Valentine's Day isn't just chocolates and flowers; go high-tech for your guy this year

Gals, if you still think the only way to your man’s heart is through his sports and his stomach, think again. This year, let’s “tech it up” a level. Here are some gift gadgets that are sure to make your guy go “ga-ga.”

Follow my lead

Your man may be on the go, but does he know which way he’s going? This year, get him back on track with Tom Tom’s Navigator 5. Navigator 5 offers Bluetooth technology and works directly with his PDA.

Simply install the software on his compatible Bluetooth enabled PDA, and navigation comes directly from his PDA’s address book. The small wireless GPS receiver stays tucked away in his pocket or in the car.

Tom Tom Navigator 5 offers extensive guided tours, points of interest and even a built in compass, all for around $200.

For your eyes only

Nothing says “Be mine” more than a chick flick-free movie night, so forget “When Harry met Sally” and think more along the lines of “Dirty Harry.”

James Bond Ultimate Collection 3 DVD boxed set perfectly pleases, with movie titles like “Golden Eye,” “Live and Let Die,” and “For your eyes only.” And for some real classic Bond, check out Collection 4, which includes “Dr. No,” “Octopussy,” and “Moonraker.”

Two other options sure to get the testosterone flowing are The Godfather Collection and Saturday Night Live, the 1st Season. And if you really want to impress with some hi-tech, get him the recently released “The Sopranos, Season 6” in high definition on HD DVD and Blu-ray DVD.

Rock me tonight

For the rocker in your world, check out Playstation 2’s Guitar Hero II. Guitar Hero takes your man from air band wannabe to rock star- hey look at me, in one press of a fret button.

So, how does it work? The Guitar Hero II Bundle combines Guitar Hero II and a miniature guitar that acts as a controller. By pressing one of the five buttons on the guitar’s fret board, you can play along with the games prerecorded songs. Motion makes music.

Choose from multiple animated rock characters and your bank starts small with clubs and bars. As you get better, you’ll work up to stadiums and arenas.

Guitar Hero II features more than 55 songs including Police- Message in a Bottle, Rolling Stones- Can’t you hear me knocking, Guns N’Roses- Sweet Child O’ Mine, and Van Halen- You Really got me now.

The PS2 bundle runs just under $100. Look for it on Xbox in April.

I’ve got ya covered

Want to make sure your guy is never out of touch? Give him Solio, the solor energy charger for all his electronics. All he needs is some direct sunlight and he’s got some real talking and playing power.

Solio works with cell phones, PDA’s, MP3 players, digital cameras, game players and GPS units. When Solio is fully charged, it has enough power to power a cell phone or iPod nano at least two times. Solio can even store energy for more than a year.

Solio (www.solio.com) comes in white, gray, black and pink, and costs just under $100.
